Architectural Plants is a magical long-established Nursery in Pulborough, West Sussex. They sell just what is on the ticket - plants that stand out through their architectural and sculptural qualities. They have just moved to a new site and are branching out to show (and sell!) sculpture as well. I am very happy and excited to have my work there, especially as I have known the is nursery from the very beginning, when I was still gardening in Brighton.
I am planning to visit on Saturday, so more photos are sure to follow!
This year’s Festival is special for me because my gulls are on the cover of the brochure for the Open Houses and on lots of posters too! I will be showing my work in the following venues:

The piece for Encounters AOH is a about memories of living on Kemptown seafront. It will feature architectural and other detail of the street scene there. I will be making a large sphere – similar to the ones shown in my previous work. It will be covered in pure white hand-cut porcelain mosaic, with the grout lines taking centre stage, forming the design as a line drawing. The mosaic tiles are the ‘space inbetween’. This is reversal from conventional tiling and mosaic work, where the grout acts merely as a filler. It is also the first piece for me without colour. I wanted to strip away everything that I normally work with, and celebrate the elements of grout and bare tile that I tend to take for granted.
I will be posting pictures of the work in progress here
