Mosaics for Memorial Gardens, Crawley
Crawley has long been a transport hub. Historically, it was first a coaching post, then an important railway link, and most recently the nearest town to Gatwick Airport.
The Memorial Gardens were gifted to the town after World War 1, and the mosaics reflect the wish for peace, using images of transport. The bench features peace doves, and aircraft. The mosaics covering the raised planter feature a relief edge taken from bicycle tyres, Car tyre patterns and a mosaic of 'Leaves on the Track' symbolise the railways.
Decorative bollards complete the scheme.
